As a consequence, you may feel empty. To be shocked to hear what you can give is good. Most of us think of giving firstly in terms of material things. But most things you can really give are invisible. To give attention, to give thought, to give emotions, to give intentions, to give time. All the other things to give may result, but they are not supposed to be your goal. The goal is to find out what you have received, so you can give. Then results will come as a result of giving.

Luk 6:30 - Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask [them] not again.

Luk 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
Abundance comes when giving reaches abundance. Joy comes when you give joy. Riches come when you give riches. Love comes when you give love.

There does not have to be an object for that which you give. That would be 'to give to', not 'to give'. You give with your heart, no object, no condition, no expectation. There is only this knowledge that you give.

3Jo 1:4 - I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
Truth is the highest gift.
Where to find it? Why, You are it.

Jhn 14:6 - I am the truth.
These words do not mean anything if they are projected outside of you, e.g. 'attributed'. They do not mean anything if they are projected onto something inside of us either, e.g. as a profound saying. They only mean anything if you can honestly say the same and mean it. It is the most powerful affirmation. It affirms at once that you are alive, because otherwise you could not affirm it. And it affirms at once that you are your own path, because without being the truth, you are on a path, but not a path yourself. And who knows where a path leads? Happily, the path you are on leads to the path you are.

When you read all this, think:

I know all this - I am knowledge. My knowledge is forever expanding beyond any known boundary. I feel the joy of knowing myself - I am joy. I feel love for the world, because it contains only good things - I am love.
Please, check out my recommended sites. How would you answer them?
Write your answers down or ask somebody else.

Here are the questions:

1. Why is there poverty and suffering in the world?
2. What is the relationship between science and religion?
3. Why are so many people depressed?
4. What are we all so afraid of?
5. When is war justifiable?
6. How would God want us to respond to aggression and terrorism?
7. How does one obtain true peace?
8. What does it mean to live in the present moment?
9. What is our greatest distraction?
10. Is current religion serving its purpose?
11. What happens to you after you die?
12. Describe Heaven and how to get there.
13. What is the meaning of life?
14. Describe God.
15. What is the greatest quality humans possess?
16. What is it that prevents people from living to their full potential?
17. Non-verbally, by motion or gesture only, act out what you believe to be the current condition of the world.
18. What is your one wish for the world?
19. What is wisdom, and how do we gain it?
20. Are we all One?

Here are my answers as a gift.

1. Why is there poverty and suffering in the world?

As with all words, it depends on what you mean with poverty and suffering.
Depending on what the meaning is, the reasons for their existence could be different.
But once we agree on the meaning of words, we must agree that it exists.
Some things 'exist' in reality, but is poverty and suffering one of them?
Some things 'exist' only in our mind, in our memory or in our fantasy.

If we had agreed on a different meaning of the words, we would also agree that they exist.
This means that those things the words refer to exist, because the words exist to describe them.
That is, words have the power to become real.
Everything that is put in words becomes real.
And everything real can be put in words.
But words and reality are not the same.

However, once we believe a word refers to something real, we are ready to experience it and its decay.
If there is something, its decay is there.
Therefore, even if it exists, it does not have to exist always.
If we start to use the words that we want to use to describe our world, certain words would not turn up.
Some words are just memories, some words are just imaginations.
We do not have to use them.
We can use other words to transform the experience.
Once we can apply different words to something we earlier had agreed on, our experience widens.
Poverty and suffering belong to the past if we agree on it.
Then we would describe them as lessons to be learned and as indicators of great rewards when we learn them.

2. What is the relationship between science and religion?

Science and religion are two ways of answering questions about reality.
Science has methods and religion has different methods.
The success of science and religion lies in their ability to repeat results by applying their methods.
If we are not satisfied with the results, we change our ways and find a different way of answering questions about reality.
Science and religion are both non-exhaustive methods to answer questions about reality.
Science and religion are both expanding their methods.
Science and religion are converging and absorbing all the methods to answer questions about reality.
Science and religion are symbols for the infinite wisdom that could be ours if all our questions are answered.
Science and religion are distracting us from our own investigations (relevance) and our own mystery (immediacy).

3. Why are so many people depressed?

People are depressed, because they do not understand why they are depressed.
Their minds perhaps give reasons that nevertheless are not the real reasons.
Therefore, to be depressed is to be in a state of belief in a lie that nevertheless is not the truth.
The consequence of believing in a lie is to become depressed.
The inability of the mind to distinguish between a lie and the truth makes a state of depression a vicious circle.
Once the mind can be triggered into different thoughts, that is, if the mind is willing to put its attention on different things than with what it is preoccupied when in a state of depression, different feelings start to emerge.
This experience should be the hope of the one that feels depressed and one should know that relief is nearest to his heart.
In fact, it is possible to feel happy in any situation, and only if you find out how that works, do the circumstances start to reflect your happiness.

4. What are we all so afraid of?

We are afraid to succeed, but we are also afraid that we don't have enough information to succeed.
The truth is, that if we conquer our reasons to be afraid, by dismissing them, we seize to be and we start off to have success.

5. When is war justifiable?

A more cautious question would be: "Could war be justifiable?" In the state that the question is put here, it presupposes that the more cautious question has already been answered with 'yes'. Of course, 'never' could be an answer, but it negates the question and not the validity of the question. If we believe that there is a reason, the only reason is ignorance. If you are not ignorant, however, then there is no justifiable reason. Instead of war, all efforts should be invested in the increase of understanding and the education of the ignorant. But that poses the problem of self-understanding and self-education that lie at the core of any increase of awareness. What can trigger the inner will to expand one's consciousness away from its conditioned state and produces a free mind that is not interested in the posed question because it is not an essential question?

What if there is a knowledge that could save people from war and that knowledge is at risk of being destroyed. If a war could prevent the destruction of that knowledge, would that mean that certain knowledge is more valuable than the people that cause the destruction of that knowledge? But what if that knowledge could never be destroyed, but could always be retrieved, even if it were destroyed? Then war to save this knowledge would only save some time by eliminating the effort to restore the knowledge if it were to be destroyed. With a war to prevent the destruction of this knowledge, more lives would be destroyed than the value of the knowledge, that supposedly could prevent wars. Hence, wars have a time element in them, and it is perceived as justifiable only with a belief that time is of the essence to reach a certain goal, namely peace or the absence of war. But this is paradoxical. The war that wants to install peace could be countered with another war, to prevent it, so that peace becomes something that will not be caused by the first war, since it is prevented, but it will be caused by the second war, which prevents the first war. In this endless scenario, based on dualistic thinking, there is always some place without peace, even if the knowledge to prevent wars is already available. There is only peace if there is no justifiable reason for war and it requires that war itself must cease to be part of the thinking mind. However, since we have a word for it, that word must cease to have meaning - again causing no justifiable reason to persist.

Although we may understand the dynamics of war, war itself can not be justifiable in the face of total knowledge, when that knowledge is available to all.
In that context, the Internet could be a blessing, even if it also is a platform that could promote war. We need to have access to all available knowledge and we need to grow up in the understanding that all knowledge belongs to everybody. More to the point, we need to come to personal individual understanding that all knowledge is already always available within. This is a mystery.
If war would prevent the spreading of knowledge, those who participate in that war must be ignorant about this mystery themselves.

6. How would God want us to respond to aggression and terrorism?

With compassion for the agony of the aggressor.

7. How does one obtain true peace?

By integrating the paradoxical nature of reality. What we believe, becomes the truth; when we change our beliefs, the truth changes. We can choose the world we live in. "That is just the way it is" is never the way it is. What if it is possible to free ourselves of any beliefs? We need to investigate this psychological process for ourselves and find a way to operate our minds consciously. We will find that it is operated by the heart. Then we can consciously obtain true peace by developing true peace in our heart without the mind interfering.

8. What does it mean to live in the present moment?

It means that you can observe reality without judgement and feel whatever you want to feel no matter what. Only if you live in the present moment can you possibly keep your inner balance and know yourself.

9. What is our greatest distraction?

Our greatest distraction is the confirmation of our beliefs in our experiences. This is why we believe that certain things are true and others are not.
However, it is a distraction, since reality allows for different beliefs and they also will be confirmed if we choose to believe them.
It would be best to have a single belief that allows for everything that exists to be part of the truth. That single belief must change over time to include whatever exists in any moment. So, every belief is a distraction, but the flexibility to change your beliefs is the activity of a conscious mind.

10. Is current religion serving its purpose?

Religion is the result of a technology of the mind that we haven't yet understood. Just like we do not yet understand everything about the human body. Religion therefore has the capacity to unite or to separate people according to the working of its technology. If we would understand that the technology present in religion can be used to change our perspective at will, then religion would cease to have a function. As religion is not always explaining the details of its technology, most of the results of it are unconscious and unrecognized. If indeed religion is serving its purpose, it is creating exceptions to the rule until all individuals are exceptions and religion becomes superfluous to its own purpose. We may therefore conclude that as long as there is religion, it is serving its purpose, showing that not everybody has understood their own human nature.

11. What happens to you after you die?

After you die, your body withers away. But it is not really your body, is it? Since you are not your body, but part of a great consciousness, nothing really changes. When you became conscious, you took on consciousness. When you die, consciousness takes what is not yours. Hence, what is really yours, consciousness, is never lost and in essence your life is a contribution to the development of consciousness. Science is barely coming to grips with consciousness. It is the last frontier and it involves everything. Religion provides symbols of consciousness, but nothing can make you become conscious but only you yourself when you investigate yourself and start translating the symbols into actions of the mind and heart. Instead of asking what happens after you die, a better question is what happens in the moment you die. That moment is postponed until we find out never to tell about it. However, the mystery rather is that every moment you truly live, you truly die. If you are not currently truly dying, you are not truly living. To die means to wake up to this infinite moment. After that, you die again and you wake up again and so on.

12. Describe Heaven and how to get there.

First of all, Heaven is a wrong translation of a Hebrew word pronounced 'shamayim'. This word is written with 4 letters, Shiyn-Mem-Yud-Mem, and it contains the mystery of how anything can exist and persist at all. Heaven is a state of bliss, not a place. In this state (symbolized by Shiyn) existence (symbolized by Yud) is obscured by 'water' (symbolized by Mem) on both sides - and at the same time created over time according to this state. Heaven is the redefinition (death) of words to make them come alive so they bring life.
If enough people understand the meaning of this word and stop describing the symbolic place, the world as we know it will be transformed conformable to the idea we have of Heaven. We must, however, believe that Heaven is the response to our own state of bliss, if we can sustain that bliss. We can not expect anybody else to create our world as we would have it.

13. What is the meaning of life?

The meaning of life is to define its meaning. In order to be able to do that, your first task is to know yourself.

14. Describe God.

We must distinguish between the word 'God' and what it signifies. In reality, we only deal with words and their interpretations. You are not asking me for the interpretation of the word 'God', but you presuppose that there is a God (and not just the word for God). Now, when the word 'God' signifies something, it becomes what we suppose God is. In psychology it is known that it is a tool to anchor behavior. You can accomplish anything if you believe that God wants you to accomplish it. In fact, God is your inner divinity that generates a life power that enables you to do anything whatsoever and overcome fear. However, in relation to the previous question, you will find that you can not escape the meaning of life if you are to find out what or who God is. And before you do, you fear the God you worship, because you avoid self-knowledge.

15. What is the greatest quality humans possess?

Their greatest quality is to realize that they are not only biological creatures, but possess a heart and a mind that can work together to accomplish anything beneficiary for other humans. In fact, if by any cause a human finds out how to sustain happiness, his life will be a miracle and his goal is accomplished whether he lives or dies.

16. What is it that prevents people from living to their full potential?

Belief in false beliefs and the ignorance how to discard or change one's self-destructive beliefs into empowering beliefs prevents people to live. Once you truly live, however, you always live your full potential.

17. Non-verbally, by motion or gesture only, act out what you believe to be the current condition of the world.

The current condition of the world non-verbally: my own current condition. I would sit and observe you.

18. What is your one wish for the world?

Let it find a way to disclose for everybody the key to self-knowledge.

19. What is wisdom, and how do we gain it?

Wisdom is self-knowledge and from it stems knowing that it can only be gained by becoming honest to yourself about the working of your inner world.

20. Are we all One?

Yes. We are like facets on a diamond where all the facets are eyes. Each eye sees all the other eyes except themselves. Whatever the eye sees, defines his own position on the diamond, given the light source. Since the diamond is moving in relation to the light source, each eye sees different things at different moments. But once the eye becomes aware of the light source, he will be only concerned with enjoying the outlook, knowing that he is in the right spot on the diamond to complete its beauty.

Introspection of the outer world

We observe with our senses. Don't we? We have five senses: hearing, seeing, tasting, smelling, sensing. But these senses do not really sense! They just transmit signals to the brain. How the signals are interpreted by the brain, causes us to sense something. It is known that the pain threshold increases when we are relaxed. We can endure more pain in a relaxed state. We can also get used to feeling something, like the clothes we wear, so that it seems we do not sense them. Therefore, our sixth sense is our brain. Do we know what our brain senses?

Our brain senses all the information that it receives. If the brain senses something, it makes us aware of an interpretation of what it senses. The brain produces a thought and it produces an emotion. But some things the brain senses and does not make us aware of it, unless we focus on it. Like the impulses the brain gives to the heart to beat, or our lungs to breathe. And think of all the other things that the body does, such as digestion. Most of these processes are (at least partly) supervised by the brain.

Notice that what we sense is NOT the outer world. But we sense something that we think is positioned outside of us. But who really knows 'where' something is? Who knows what is real? Whatever our brain tells us, is but a way to cope with what is called 'reality'. However, we register and we interact with reality, whether it is internal or external. How do we interact?
We interact with reality by interacting with our interpretation of reality. This is important to become aware of. Because we have become used to interacting with the interpretation of reality, it is our interpretation of reality that can change in order to change reality. This is not some infinite regression or nonsense. If we change our interpretation of reality, reality responds differently. This is a secret and it holds as its germ your happiness.

The question becomes how to change your interpretation of reality, if all you have is partial information. Realize that your thoughts and emotions are registered by your brain. I found that my emotions are reactions to my thoughts most of the time. If on the other hand, I consciously focus on a positive emotion, my brain registers different thoughts! And those thoughts that are produced when I feel happy, are also thoughts that make me happy.

Normally, you are not aware of your thoughts and how they influence how you feel and what you do. If you pay more attention to them, you will find, that you think a lot of things. You think them and they are real to you. What you think is real, what you feel is real, because you do not doubt their reality. It is a two-way experience: thought + emotion. That is, you do not question your thoughts, especially those thoughts that you are convinced are true. Nevertheless, have you felt sad, pondering about something that you know is true? Have you ever felt upset that reality did not match your thoughts, your principles? Have you ever felt upset at a time when you defended your thoughts against different ones? If you remember when that happened, note that your brain was registering emotions and thoughts. You were speaking (or thinking) your mind, but you were upset. Your emotions that went along with the thoughts were not positive - you were not comfortable with them. What does it tell you?

There is an important lesson to be learned from this. Your emotions register the quality of your thoughts. If you are happy you have 'high quality' thoughts. If you are upset you have 'low quality' thoughts. If you can pinpoint what you are doing at any such time, you can reverse the process. You can feel happy and produce high quality thoughts. To do this, please interrupt your mind when it is running on autopilot producing low quality thoughts. You know what I mean, it is when you can't stop beating yourself or somebody else up and feel frustrated.

Low quality thoughts make you feel sad, upset, angry and the like. High quality thoughts make you feel at peace with yourself and others, they produce joy, happiness, enthusiasm and the like. The only thing you need to do when you get upset by your own thoughts - and if you get upset that is always the case, because if you get upset for any reason, it is ultimately because you think certain things at the time, and those thoughts are yours, even if those thoughts were triggered by something or somebody you observed with your senses - is to let them go and accept that reality is not agreeing with you. This realization may temporarily hurt your ego, but if you let the thought go that hurts you, and you accept that there is a different thought that can make you feel at peace and relaxed, you might hunt for that thought and find it and think it instead and feel at peace. A good way to hunt a high quality thought is to relax and concentrate on feeling at peace with yourself. This costs a considerable effort if you have never done this before, but it is worth more than a single try. If you can do this continually, you are at peace all the time, because you have trained yourself to be happy by then, because you replaced all 'low quality' thoughts by 'high quality' thoughts. Then you can think what you want to think all the time, because it brings you peace.

Ultimately, you should decide what you think and what you feel. But if you do not decide what you think and feel and instead you let your thoughts and emotions dictate your reaction, who decides for you? What bizarre program is running in your head that you would allow your integrity to be undermined by some 'mere' (your!) thoughts and emotions? If you don't like them, change them. You can do it in the same way you created the thoughts and emotions you don't like, except that now you need to feel postive (at peace) when you create new thoughts. And keep doing it every time it is needed... for hours, for days, for months, for years. It becomes easy to be at peace after a while ;-).

You only have your inner representation of 'reality'. And that inner representation is what you deal with. You do not deal with reality itself, because you do not know what reality really is. So, if you are able to deal with your inner representation of reality to such a degree, that you can choose to have peace with whatever you think and feel, then you are free. At peace, you become a full representative of reality. Because reality is at peace with itself.

Reality embraces you for you to embrace it and have peace.
And with the arrival of your peace, world peace comes one step closer.

Vision

When things happen according to your vision, what does it mean?
It means your vision is correct, doesn't it?
Well, it depends.

Sometimes you distinguish something in your vision that you do not recognize. What are you going to do about it? If you ignore it, you still remember your impression of it. But since you did not recognize it, what are you supposed to think about it? So, the only thing you can do, is to move on. An annoying memory of this strangeness in your vision keeps you locked in the past and you wonder when you will be free to enjoy your vision in which everything you see you also recognize, i.e. that everything happens according to your vision.

Now, when you open your eyes you see a reflection of your vision. And there it is, that strangeness. It is right in front of you. Strange... It is there to show you that it's not strange. It is there to show you that it is part of your vision. It is there to show you in an intricate way that although you did not recognize it at first, you can not ignore it. So, there it is, the strangeness. And you start to get used to it.

At first you may be scared. That's why you close your eyes again sometimes. But the more often you open your eyes and the more often you look at the strangeness, the more acquainted you will be with it. In a way, you are getting used to it and you can see all aspects of it. Strangeness becomes normal.

Now, when you open your eyes, you know there is that strangeness, right in front of you, but now you are familiar with it. In a way it is not strange any more. You do not have to ignore it, you know its properties. You learned something. Ah! It was a lesson!

Now, when you close your eyes, you remember your vision. The strangeness is there, but now you know what it taught you. You substitute the strangeness with your understanding of what you learned about it. To your amazement, it disappears from your vision.

Now, when you open your eyes, nothing is strange and everything is according to your vision.
What you see is what your vision is. It's your vision and you are the visionary.

Mind is a Myth

(See Mind is a Myth)

"When the Aleph erupts, no Beyt (house) remains and even the Reysh (head) is restructured - leaving the individual senseless and a singularity - the incorporated Aleph. It is an inverse creation: uncreated." (my formulation)
Reading about the experience of U.G. Krishnamurti (July 9, 1918 - March 22, 2007), not to be confused with Jiddu Krishnamurti (May 12, 1895 - February 17, 1986), I felt a deep empathy for this man. His inner restructuring is so radical, that it took him years to recuperate - but this word 'recuperate' must be understood here as making him without experience. His state is a possibility - as he proves - that I would call an incorporated Aleph. Words being utterly meaningless, since Aleph is infinite, there is no definite state, neither is there a description. Nevertheless, working with the paradox, allows us to assign a symbol, Aleph.

His nature is Adam and as one can read that means androgynous. Gen 1:27 is repeated in

Gen 5:2 - Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
This verse is not about two persons, this was about a single person - Adam.

To give an impression of the way an Aleph talks, consider the next statement by U.G.:

"I have no message for mankind. But of one thing I am certain, I cannot help you solve your basic dilemma or save you from self-deception, and IF I CAN'T HELP YOU, NO ONE CAN."
To be an Aleph installs the awareness of utter powerlessness resulting from having all the powers of the Universe resolved in you. There are no contradictions, therefore there are no solutions. There are no illusions, therefore, no lessons. There are no questions, therefore, no answers. This is a terrible realization. But some call it bliss. Yes, it's your pick. You may ask what these words mean. Consider it homework.

Now, if you ask an Aleph something, you get an answer that you do not consider an answer. But listen carefully! You missed the answer already. The frequency in the response is so high, so utterly destructive, that only if you join this state of mind, you will be safe. Consider yourself. Why would you ask something in the first place? Do you think anybody knows the answer to your question? What do you really mean? What is there to know that you find so important to know? What you want to know is not the answer to your question. No, you want to know your own answer, dug up from your inner knowledge, because only then could you possibly recognize the answer if it came to you. So, instead of asking it - putting it into words for others to hear - keep your question inside, keep it locked up in your head and let it come to life! Your questions are valuable, but you kill their life by putting them into words. Your words, as powerful as they are, they kill the power of Aleph residing in you.

Now, the dilemma of self-deception hides in your perception of the difference between question and answer. Your question arises from deep within you, unspeakable. This dragon is surfacing and you take resolve to fight it. You are going to slay it. You are going to kill it. You are, simply, going to put it into words. Dead! No question in your mind remains, but lying as dead meat in front of you. What have you done? You killed a question! "Who cares, it's just words?" you ask. There you go, self-deception. What do you think constitutes your question?

Never will you heal, if you do not keep your words as treasures inside. When you're finally healed, your words do not have the destructive power to kill your questions - now they will carry all the power that you represent!

OK, so you don't ask the question - you are determined to find the answer, but you won't ask it. What is going to happen next? You have convinced yourself of the importance of that question. You are going to do some research and soon you find that there is no single answer to it. You refine your question, over and over again. And over and over again, you can't find a satisfying answer, because you find that still, the question does not allow for a single answer. Don't you see? You suffer from self-deception again. You have all the answers, but you don't see them. You search for answers, you find them, but you do not see them as answers. You keep looking and suffer from self-deception.

The dilemma you're facing: What constitutes your question? The answer, the feeding ground of the dragon, is hidden, but nevertheless strengthened the dragon to appear. Those two, the feeding ground and the dragon are best left alone. Look closer, deep inside. Then your self-deception will vanish and with it the dilemma. Because the two will vanish and be destroyed by their own force. Destruction in this sense is the resurrection of the incorporated Aleph!

You did it before. Do you remember?

Promise or Commitment

There is a subtle difference between the two. Look at these Scriptures and let us try to understand them.

Mat 5:34 - But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
35 - Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
36 - Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
37 - But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

To swear is to take an oath, which in fact is a kind of promise. When you do an oath, what are you doing? For instance, you say you swear that you won't do something, or you swear that you will do something. What happens? Let us consider both cases.

In the case that you swear you won't do something, you have used the words 'do something' so the thing you swear you won't do has left your mouth already. You may argue that there is no other way to say you won't do it, then to call the very thing you won't do by its name. That is true, but what it does is that you have confirmed in your mind the connection between you and that action and put it into words. In other words, you have come a step closer to actually doing it! Also, you have put up a certain resistance in the way you will act, but there are always situations where you might have to do the thing that you swear you wouldn't because there is a greater cause. For example, you swear you won't steal. But suppose you could steal the weapon of somebody and report it to the police, then you would not steal that weapon to have it for yourself, but in order to save people from harm. Nevertheless, you stole the weapon and you broke your oath. What does that do? When you break your own oath you send a subconscious message to yourself that you can't be trusted and this undermines your strength unless you consciously surrender to the higher truth and you know how to undo your oath. But if this is what normally happens when you take an oath, it is clear that there is no point in taking an oath in the first place.

Now, in the case you swear you will do something, again, what you are saying is an impossibility, because you are talking about the future. Since you needed to say the oath to force reality to favor you in order for you to be able to fulfill your oath, you are in effect saying that you deserve an opportunity to act according to your oath. However, given the current situation, you have already admitted to your mind that you have no power over the situation, and that is why you resorted to taking the oath. Again, you are undermining yourself and instead you are empowering reality to postpone that opportunity, because in your reality this opportunity is not yet present, so it will remain distant for you, because you took an oath. Again, if this is what normally happens when you take an oath, it is clear that there is no point in taking an oath in the first place.

In both cases, your oath is of little value. One could argue that it is the intention that counts, and that is right, when you realize that the intention is in fact the only thing that counts. If that is the case, that you intend to change, then there is a whole different dynamic. You can say 'Yes, I intend to reach that goal.' - this is a positive formulation. If you feel that intent, you can decide in the present and in any future how to align your actions towards your intent, bringing your goal closer to you. The difference with an oath is that with an intent you are free to choose the actions that align with your intent, while with an oath you seem to want to force a thing and you create an unconscious resistance that might block you to reach that goal. An intent is more flexible; you can always change your intent and explain that in terms of having found a higher truth, including your previous intent.

It follows that you can not intend to not do something. To intend to not do something is like opening a door towards a myriad of alternatives that you could do, but there is no focus. It is better to intend the things that you can do. In that way, you can use intent to change your behavior. For example, instead of intending not to smoke, you can intend to do certain exercises or attend a sports club to change your physiology. Or instead of intending not to eat too much, you can intend to eat healthier and formulate what that means to you. And so on. When your intents are positive in this way, you increase the energy you spend on things that you want with less time to spend on the things you want to change.

Formulating positive intentions for yourself makes it easier for you to reach a goal. Negatively formulated intentions do not help you. Positive intentions are the things you can really commit yourself to, that is, they help you spend your energy towards a continuous increase of that which you intend. In this way you will always succeed in the things you intend. That is called commitment.

It follows that when you are asked to comply to anything, you can answer yes or no in alignment with your commitment. This has two benefits. First, before answering you remind yourself of your commitments. And second, your answer is always in line with your commitments. Both of these facts give momentum to your commitments and give you the opportunity to become honest with yourself.

Do we have one past?

So, what if there is a chance that our realities evolve apart from eachother, but that they change when we interact with eachother in ways that are beneficial for both of us? It may be that you have a possible future and I have a possible future in which I never see you, but you are miserable. Now that I made a decision to meet you, because it felt good, your presence in my awareness collapses some of the possible futures and they crystallize in your mind as memories of certain events. When I ask you about those events, you can share your memories of certain events in your past that are favorable for you. But if you wouldn't have met me, you would have told a completely different story to somebody else, because your past would have crystallized in a completely different way. Did I prevent a less favourable outcome of a possible future, by acting on a positive feeling and because you responded to it in an agreeable way, so that you actually remember the positive outcome of an event that in a slightly different future would have crystallized as a less favorable event in your past?

I ask if it is possible that the memories you have at any given moment are suitable to explain the reality up to now or that this only holds for the part of your past that is part of some other persons' life. Might it be that your most private memories are actually the ones that change all the time, because the events giving rise to these private memories haven't been interacting with others? When you start meeting other people, it might be that your memory starts changing and that you 'remember' certain events that in other possible futures would never have happened!

This is powerful stuff and I can't stress enough that something like this seems indeed to be happening. It means that we do not seem to be aware of our past and that it actually may change over time in that you will remember different events as if they had happened (and when you do remember, they did happen) but if you met some other people, you might remember other events or the same event with a different conclusion (and the former event never happened, because you remember it differently). How the events change, that you think make up your past, is part of the working of the Universe. I am not saying that I completely understand the ramifications of this, if it were true, but I am only trying to give you an idea of what I am thinking about in terms of how we relate to the Universe and how past and future are interwoven.

If I can find myself remembering the past differently than I know I remembered it in a less remote past, then I must not think to myself that I have remembered it wrong now or that I remembered it wrong then, but instead that my past has changed and I am aware of that change, since the memory of the event has changed. This could help us to overcome pain. Let me explain.

If you have pain over a traumatic event, and suppose that somebody asks: "Are you in pain now?" Suppose you say "yes", the next question is: "What exactly is it that hurts you now?"
And you will have to think about it. You must then admit that what hurts you is what you think about the past that happened to you (and it did). But it is still a thought about the past that hurts you, right? It is not anything in the present that hurts you, because now you are safe.

So, the next question would be: "Do you have the power to choose a thought that does not hurt you?" If the answer is yes, then it is clear that doing the exercise of finding thoughts that do not hurt you, in fact uplift you now, because you shift to thoughts that do not hurt you. Therefore, it points to a remedy to the hurt that the past may inflict on you. Eventually you will have learned that the past can not hurt you, when you presently choose to think uplifting thoughts. This means that you have the power to choose a thought that makes you feel happy at any time you deem it necessary.

At first you may use happy memories to trigger your happy feelings. If you are able to remember an event that made you happy, how does it make you feel that you remember that event? In itself it may not make you happy at once, but then I can ask if you remember how you felt in that event. If you do and you are able to feel the same feeling as the memory suggests that you had, you have successfully recreated the feeling of happiness, using a memory of a happy event. It proves that now, in this moment, you have the capacity to feel happy. Do you see what you are capable of?

Eventually you will not need a memory of a happy event, but only the capacity to generate a happy feeling. Then you are changing reality, because you have changed the way you feel! Now that you have changed that and changed the way you think about your feelings, you will experience other things that reflect to you the way of thinking and feeling that you have acquired. These events will be different and in support of your new beliefs about who you are and how you deal with happy and painful events in your past. Thanks to H.

Vanity of words, vanity of letters

When growing up, I pondered about the alphabet in a philosophical mood already. Consider that the alphabet has some 26 letters. The English words that can be formed with them are documented in the dictionary. So, looking up these words, one 'knows' every English word and is able to form any sentence according to the grammar of the English language. What, I asked myself, could be said at all that is not a mere repetition of what has already been said? After all, each word must be understood, so how could anything new be said with known words? OK, the order of words may be different. Names may change in one story compared to the next. But what - essentially - is new when you say anything? What does it mean that there is something new? The focus on this quirky realisation that nothing is new, at least not in terms of language, gave me the daunting feeling that whatever could be known, is already known. But it was a philosophical consideration.

At that young age, I did not get that it is the truth and that this truth has many consequences.

To find consequences of a certain deduction, one has to dare take the next step. If nothing new can be said, why is there room for arguments, why is there room for misunderstandings, and why does it mean that these misunderstandings dictate that we feel bad about them? Why is there room for these negative aspects, when one would expect the opposite, namely agreement.

If we are in principle capable of telling the truth, then a typical conversation would go like this:

A: [truth 1].
B: I agree, so [truth 2].
A: Ah, yes, and you can vary it like [truth 3].
B: You are so funny, this is what I remember as [truth 4].
A: Hm hm.
B: Eh eh.
[peaceful silence]

Wouldn't it be fair that we would be exchanging truths with eachother and would have to agree all the time? Now, if somebody says that reality is not like this, he is introducing a disagreement. Why? Of course, we have the choice to be true to ourselves or not. But disagreement seems to be a way of dishonesty, on one of the sides. So, I tend to resolve this by keeping in mind that what somebody tells me is the truth as he/she sees it. But some of these views are very different from my own views. It is a challenge, not to take these differences personally, nor to take them as denial of any truth.

Here's where it gets tricky. If the differences of opinion are differences of truth, what is truth? Is truth confusing? It might be, but why would it be? Why can't we agree that we disagree and that both of us hold part of the truth? Does one of the views have to prevail? It isn't possible. Every partial truth that is forced on somebody else is in denial of the truth that is suppressed. This is the nature of partiality. And as time goes by the suppressed truth will gain strength and overthrow what has been forced.

Therefore it is said that truth prevails, because truth is living; its seeds are constantly rooting in people's hearts. That's what the heart is for, as the field of truth seeds. When such a seed of truth has matured into a tree, it becomes visible. If such a tree is cut down, its roots nevertheless stay in the heart. But if a tree is uprooted completely, then there will be room for a different truth. Now, uprooting truth trees is difficult, and there is but one person that can do it. It's you. Nobody else can uproot your truth trees.

Some trees are helping you flourish, other trees are blocking your view or hinder your progress.
So, we become gardeners of our truth trees. Every tree planted in our heart is true, but not every truth is fit for every heart.

Sow courage to uproot the trees that hinder courage. Sow wisdom to uproot the trees of small mindedness. Sow love to uproot trees of hate. Sow abundance to uproot trees of poverty.

How do you want your heart's garden to look like? Start sowing and uprooting if there's something you don't like about it! Nobody can stop you, nobody can help you, nobody can force you. It's all up to you.

Will the fruit be sweet or bitter? Remember that all fruits you'll ever eat are the harvest of the trees you once planted when they were but seeds. Were you careless before? Start sowing care. Were you forgetful before? Start sowing mindfulness. Were you lazy? Start sowing enthusiasm. Were you sad? Start sowing joy.

What's the truth? Is it spelled with five letters? No, those letters are vain, the word 'truth' is vain; the letters just spell a word of five letters, and the word thus spelled is but an indication, a projection, a symbol, with nothing going for it in comparison to other words! Vain are all words, vain are all letters. The concept of truth is not in the word 'truth'. That word is but a seed and how it develops into a tree with sweet fruit depends on the other trees in your truth garden, your heart. The language of truth is a hidden language; it is not taught at home, it is not taught in schools, it is not taught in university; the language of the heart is never taught, but remembered. The fruit of remembrance of this language is faith. Faith is the knowledge of the law of growth of seeds that have been planted in your heart. And faith feeds Life.

The reversal of truth is not a lie

To investigate for oneself what Truth is, is the quest of life itself. However, on this quest there will possibly be a tool that could help or misguide you, as we allow it to determine our line of thought. This tool is called logic and I do not think I need to explain it in detail, but I mean the inference of a logical conclusion from its premises. Now, this science may be applied to life as well, but there is a danger in relying on logic. The danger is not that logic will not reach a correct conclusion from its premises, but that it does not guarantee that the premises are correct to begin with! This means, as is well known from mathematics, that the only thing that logic can do for us, is to retain within the same system of premises, as long as we keep those premises in tact. But what will happen if we find that one of the premises is wrong?

If we change one of our premises, because we have learned something, or we have experienced something, then changing that one premise, will also have a profound effect on the conclusions that can be reached after this change has been internalized. As sure as I am sitting here, the change of a single premise in your inner belief system will create a new reality for you.
When you grow up, the adjustment of premises is gradual and sometimes abrupt, but by the time you are an adult, most of your premises have become fixed. This means that when you are an adult and do not adjust your premises, your life becomes predictable! Think about it, that is a consequence of logic.

But why does it follow like this?

Is the mind logical? Is the subconscious logical? Most people will reply - without ever having thought about it - with 'no'. And that is one of the premises that reinforces the statement that your life is becoming more and more predictable. But if you start thinking about it - if you see a reason to do so, when your answer has been 'no' as well, this might be the starting point to a less predictable life for you. Most importantly, the predictable state of your life right now, might even prevent you to embrace an unpredictable life. In fact, most of us tend to establish oneself and eradicate all margins of error, all margins of surprise, all margins of the unexpected. This is called the 'good life' by many, but it has become the synonym for 'predictable'.

Here, I am not going to prove or disprove whether the mind is logical, or whether the subconscious is logical. All that I want to convey is the premise that fixed premises give fixed results over and over again.

Starting from that premise, realising that your life is a repetition of past events as long as you have fixed premises, this may eventually drive you towards your inner nature and face up to it. Your inner nature is what you made of it, there is nobody to blame, not even yourself. If you are not happy with your inner nature, why don't you change it? Any premise, as long as it is fixed, will cause an event that obstructs it; the stronger you try to retain it, the more events will obstruct it.

Everything going on inside you reflects itself in the world around you. When you can localize your fixed premises and untie them - i.e. to allow for other premises or to remove them altogether as a motivation for your actions - your life will unfold into a journey with no fixed boundaries or fixed goals or repetitive events. This is, because you have started to nourish your creativity, and your creativity will reflect in your life as surprises that lovingly teach you what the next step should be.

Being free of premises will allow you to surrender to what is, and the result will be that you will conquer your fears. Eventually, total freedom will become a possibility and perseverance to untie your premises will ensure that freedom will permeate your whole being, your whole life and your whole world.

This is my mission, to motivate people to investigate the Truth and become free.
To be free is to be free of premises; to be free of premises is to have conquered your fears; to conquer your fears requires to investigate your inner nature; to investigate your inner nature requires all your energy; all your energy is all you've got; all the stuff you've got is spent energy; spent energy is what you have focused on; what you focused on was dictated by your premises.

Without premises, you will be total focus. Miracles will happen and the best life embraces them.

The Next Step

As of today I am joining a study in Kabbalah at the ARI Institute (see links or here) for a number of reasons I like you to know.

The most obvious reason might be that it is connected to a deeper understanding of the Hebrew Alphabet. As you may remember, this is how I started this blog, to indicate a kind of cover-up of letters by the words in Scripture. At the bottom of this craving for understanding lies the belief that Scripture contains a (hidden) detailed manual of what it means to be human, not in a moral or religious context, but in a spiritual context. Whatever 'spiritual' means, it is the essence of a human being. One of the most shocking things for me has been, that the 'Old Testament', and in particular the first five books of Hebrew Scripture, called the Pentateuch, contain already everything you need to know. But I feel that this statement needs more explanation than I can put into words right now and I am working on that. In fact, that is the sole purpose of everything I do nowadays, to find ways to put into words what this means.

However, as important as the understanding of the Hebrew Alphabet is, I do not expect that it will be taught in this course on Kabbalah. So, a more important reason for me to join, is to understand better what I have been experiencing in the past year that I would call a progressive revelation of divinity. This process has had a profound influence on how I view the world, humanity and my place in it. I have not found on the Internet any better references than I have already listed in the links. There is a lot of related and unrelated stuff out there that is more confusing then helping and I have listed the references that have been of most help to me. I hope, in time, that interested readers might agree on their usefulness when they check them out for themselves.

Even more reasons for joining present themselves to me. I would like to be able to communicate better what I have been experiencing as part of my efforts to share information about what I suspect is most important to every human being, namely to know oneself profoundly. As I already know, my ability to share these things will improve my own well-being as a function of the improvement of the well-being of the people I influence. So there is really no way around it for me. As I improve my efforts, my efforts' results will improve and with time, it may prove the most exciting and fulfilling endeavor I could have ever dreamed of.

It has been an enormous relief for me to find that there are other people teaching in this area, even if it is only at the basic level. It paves the way for more profound interest among people of all nations. I admit that I at first was terrified by the idea that I could be the only one with an understanding of the profound implications of my discovery. The immense contradiction of feelings that comes with this realisation is indescribable. Not just the feeling of being alone, but knowing that I actually must face the possibility that loneliness is a fundamental property of who I am in a world full of people, is pure horror.

Happily for me, I am passed that stage by conquering this fear by embracing my experience in love. Now I feel that I am unstoppable, because this transformation of fear into love will continue forever. In fact, that which scared the hell out of me at first, has proven to be the door to another Life, where 'I' do not matter any more or less to myself than you.

The Hidden Dot

Here's the deal: somewhere on this blog, I hid a special dot and if you click on it while you hold your deepest wish, it will come true.

"What's this?" you may ask, "Unreal going through the top."

Well, because I write this blog, you may ask about what I feel when I write something like this. Some of you, who know me better, know that I have a way of bending reality beyond the known. So, for those people, this should not come as such a big surprise as for some of the newcomers. What I do realize, though, is that at least it gives a kind of confusion about what I am talking about. Well, it is not exactly about creating confusion, instead it is about the opposite. I ask myself this question very often: "How do I eradicate confusion once and for all?"

Confusion is like a smokescreen that hinders everybody, including me sometimes, to see the Truth. So, in order to make known the Truth, I need to eradicate confusion about what it is. More importantly for me, I need to know whether I can do that. Can I single-handedly eradicate confusion for others? That would be a great gift and I would not seize to use that gift. But then this would show up in people's lives as unexpected as the appearance of a miracle anyway. So, in a way, I am on the hunt for something that has no word yet, but it has a known effect, namely, eradicating confusion and illuminating Truth.

Truth is what you make it, really. So, if I could reduce the access to Truth to a simple mouse click, Truth would pour into people's lives automatically and they would seize to be confused about what it is. And so, I thought of this idea, to put a dot somewhere on my blog with exactly this effect, to eradicate confusion. How? By the fact that it really will work with people's deepest wishes. If they would find the dot on my blog that they could click it, they would literally receive that wish they are holding as sure as I am living. And when that happens, they for sure know that I told the Truth.

So, please, go ahead, keep your wish ready and click any dot you see OR think about how I could have hidden that special dot and look for it. That is, they use more words. If every word has power, then women should have more power then men by the shear number of words they use, or so you would think. However, if every word has power, the resident power within you is distributed over the number of words you use to express yourself. This tends to be the reason for men to use less words. They seem to be more efficient in words. Since they concentrate their power in the few words they use, it may be better targeted and effective.

Now let us take a turn of opinion. What are words for? Are words tools to express power?

If that is so, then there must be different kinds of power. Every word, every sentence conveys words and thus power. The number of words is an aspect of power. It is an outer quality of a message, something that can be measured. In other words, the number of words can be counted; this is an objective measure for the power exerted by the words. How accurate this measure is, is questionable, though.

When it is grasped that the power of words is also in their meaning, the meaning can be concentrated in specific words, in specific sentences and deliver its power immediately. This effect can not be measured. It is a hidden aspect of words how effective they are. The reason for this is, that the power words have, depends on the way they are understood by those who receive (hear, read) them. Just using less words is not more effective, although it often is, because everybody has a way of focusing their intentions in the words they use. The less words you use to express your intention, generally the more clearly you are understood.

Words to describe femininity are often related to 'measurable' (observable) aspects, like the shape of the body, the softness of the body, the beauty of make-up and the fashion they wear. These are all visible aspects.

Words to describe masculinity are often related to immeasurable aspects, like the strength or stamina of the body, smartness, ego, self-confidence and such things. All these are invisible aspects.

Female = visible; male = invisible.

For instance, if a man has ego, he expresses this by becoming visible. In other words, his male part is turned into a female aspect. Whether that female aspect, comprising his actions, is beautiful, is another question. But if a man could look at the things he expresses as his own female part, it may become easier for him to allow himself to express it more beautiful.

If a woman is beautiful, what is it that makes her really beautiful? Is it her looks (her visible part), or is it something else, something invisible, something more illusive, i.e. something invisible? That invisible part of her may eventually draw a man into her life that appreciates those invisible parts. According to me, a woman is really beautiful because of the invisible things she expresses. And when I say beautiful in this last sentence, it can't be the part that is visible. So, how can something invisible be beautiful?

That is the power of words. Words are those invisible things, that express themselves in the words that we hear or read. Words have a male and a female part. The words you choose to express yourself reflect the words that you internally use to cope with the impressions you receive from your surroundings.

Your male part, your invisible part, handles the female part, the visible part, and when you express yourself, you express in a female way how you handled the situation in a male way. Your female part feeds back to you how you handled it and you feel the result of it inside. These two aspects of yourself influence each other continuously. The one can not do without the other. Both of these aspects of you grow to maturity, until these aspects not only influence each other, but mate. When this happens, your reality is changed forever. In a very real sense, a child is on the way; your rebirth.

Then the male part is not constantly reflecting on the female part just to cope with it, it does not fight the female part any more, but commands it. Nor does the female part hurt the male part, but surrenders. Both male and female parts have become powerful in their own right to influence the other part positively. Then the male part chooses intentions that are more loving and more accepting. As a result, the female part responds more peacefully and harmoniously with those intentions.

Love becomes the flow between the male and female part. And when it flows, this love flows over to others and the love of others will flow back.

The power of words is the flow they produce between the male and female aspects, both in yourself and in others, whether you are male or female.

The Treasure

Suppose you dig through the floor of your house and beneath the surface you find a treasure. The treasure makes you instantly among the richest people in the world. What are you going to do with this treasure?

Are you going to spend it? At what?
Are you going to pretend you did not find it? Are you going to protect it from robbers?
What is the nature of the treasure? What is its actual value?
Should you enjoy having it? What can you do with it? Should you show it off?
Who is the original owner of the treasure? Can you return the treasure to the owner?

So, you realize that you have to experiment with the treasure. Only by experimenting you will find out its worth. Only by experimenting you will find out what you can share of it.

So, the first day you go out and say: "I am the rich'st man of the world!" People hear you, but they think you are crazy: "Ridiculous to think that you can get rich over night." Some may come over to you and say: "O, why don't you give me some of your riches?" Since you did not take the treasure with you - its just not practical to carry it around - you go home and think about your experience of this first day.

You sit in front of your treasure and are in awe about what happened. You start to realize that the same treasure is beneath every floor of every house. So, you actually do not need to share your own wealth, but you need to share the means to obtain that wealth, so that everybody can find it independently when they are ready for it. You start to tune in to the nature of your wealth as you never had done before. The nature of your wealth is your capacity to share and from your ability to share that wealth, more wealth is coming to you.

The second day you go out and you say: "Dig the floor of your house and you will find your treasure." Again, people hear you, but they think you are even more crazy. But do they actually do as you say? Their reluctance is rooted in doubt, but they rationalize it by coming up with excuses. They say to themselves that they do not want to deal with the mess in their home. Why destroy a perfect floor, while the chance of finding this treasure is nil?

You go home again and wonder what you should do. You could pay for all the costs of all your neighbours. You could share with them all your riches, but wouldn't they just be jealous? They would become dependent and feel their lack as never before. The tragedy then is, that they experience lack that they did not experience before, while they do not need to experience lack in the first place if they only started digging. So, using the treasure to pay for their costs is not the right way to spend it. For if people feel poor as the result of your giving, you are in effect reducing their efforts to find the treasure for themselves.

So, is it still better not to say anything at all about the treasure? How wondrous this treasure, that you found, but its value is too precious that you may give it to somebody that has no real need, or who is not ready to receive it. You are comforted with the following thought: "Only the few who observe me might suspect that I am actually telling the truth. And when by chance and circumstance, they take courage and start digging, they will dig, destroy their home's floor and find the treasure that has been waiting for them. The treasure is of such a value that they can easily repair their floor. Their joy is my reward and they will be in the exact same position as I am. My being confident will make them confident."

The third day you go out and you are friendly to everybody.
The fourth day comes by providence.

The essence

Words beyond words cannot explain the Word.
Letters beyond letters cannot explain the Letters.
Their essence is the same, and there is no word for it.
Communication of its essence is not possible.
Do not ask me: 'The essence of what?'

Here I am, contemplating.
Here I was, not really contemplating.

The essence I am talking about,
has its own essence.
That is still one level deeper.
If that essence can not be talked about,
how ever can be talked about its essence?

Every essence has an essence,
but none of these can be talked about.
Its essence is wonderful,
but besides that,
hurts much.

Suffering has an essence such as these.
Who suffer can't stop it.
Who don't suffer can't stop it.
Who chooses to suffer?
Just listen to its essence,
it is telling more about itself.

If the essence of its essence
produces words in letters,
it must be suffering,
therefore live,
because it tries to make itself clear,
that all suffering comes from it.

Learning to suffer is not suffering.
Learning to suffer makes you suffer-able.
Does it make you sufferable?

Words beyond its essence,
essences beyond words.
Joy from suffering,
miracle from nothingness.

What in the world is going on

Anything has two sides to it. As an example, consider that every question has its answer attached to it. But every answer has an opposite answer attached to it. There is divergence in two ways: opposites in different realms and opposites in the same realm.

A question and an answer are in different realms, while different questions are in the same realm and different answers are in the same realm.

Hence, when you ask the question what is going on in the world, the answer is also what is going on in the world. A question asked in one's heart is a question that is asked by the mind, and its answer will come to both the heart and the mind. But these questions may have occurred on different occasions and so the answers may arrive at different occasions. But when all these combinations are considered and there is no preference to what comes first or what is more important, there will be a coherence in the questions and in the answers that had not been observed before.

Such coherence is what defines progress. It is not unaware of opposites, but includes opposites as stemming from the same source. Coherence on world scale is a miracle, as would be its opposite.

The opposite of coherence is anti-coherence, coherence is implosion, anti-coherence is explosion.
The world is going on within these realms.

For an illustration of this process, see the Global Consciousness Project link I added to the right. That is the same feeling as being loved. I keep on to it throughout the day, reminding myself when I doze off, getting sidetracked.

Wouldn't you love to know the Truth? It may be scary at first, but then you realise that it is your ignorance that held you back. You deserve to know the Truth. In fact you do know it already, but you may not recognize it yet.

It took me a long time to recognize that fear is something that keeps you back and that is rather counter-intuitive. Wouldn't you think that fear protects you from harm? In fact, this is only partly true. Most of the time, fear protects a false sense of security and instead is the signal to expand your thinking. Fear is just the signal that something is required of you, but you may not know what that is. Hence, fear points to ignorance. Once you start addressing the area where you feel fearful, you have already progressed to make conscious whatever held you back. The next step is addressing the underlying ignorance and replace it with knowledge.

Eventually, fear starts to help you and guides you exactly in the direction you have to grow. It is an automatic process once you acknowledge your fear. Once you know that, fear becomes your best friend because it is the fastest path to your well-being. This is one of the things that helped me to start this blog in the first place.

To battle ignorance, you have to find information that addresses that ignorance. That is when you start finding answers. Those answers I want to share with you, so check out the Mind Reality link I added to my blog (or Click Here!). Thank you for using this link.

What everybody has in common is the ability to change. To change takes courage, because it requires facing your fears, acknowledge them and get rid of them. That process may be more fun than you expected, though. This will be a good reminder for every time you need to change. The thing is, you can change into anything you want. If you succeed, you live your best life and that is worth more than anything, you'll see.

The total worth

This reality is a miracle. No! What do I say? A miracle? It is a continuous miracle. No! Then it would still be singular. If the miracle continues, divided by any measure of time, it is a countless number of miracles compressed in those time capsules. No! There is no division of time! No, no, no, what is a miracle anyway?

The miracle of all this, is the fact that its worth is defined by that which gives it worth. So, when somebody says that it is worth more than any earthly possession, then it is. And in that instant where it is acknowledged to have this worth, the abundance of this reality called a miracle from the beginning, is poured out in front of you to enjoy every bit of it.

So, let me ask you, is there a name that combines thousand, hundred and ten?

Yes, there is, and I heard this name yesterday for the first time. Yesterday is the name of the things that have lost their worth. So, to preserve things, we have to dig into the past and bring them back into the present and assign its proper worth to it. In a sense, the past becomes the future: when we are in the process of digging it up, we are in the process of forming the future. When we present it in the present, and assign worth to it according to our opportunity and our capability we receive its worth a thousandfold in return. So, whenever we dig something up, we'd better give a positive worth to it. If it is a negative worth we assign, we will lose a thousandfold as well and it had been better it stayed in the past.

So, here is this name, it is Millicent. This name belongs to a kind lady with whom I had the pleasure to talk for a while in the train. Let's look at this name.

Milli (not Milly) is used in millimeter and other measures. It derives from mille, meaning thousand or thousandth part.
Cent is used in centimeter and other measures. It is derived from cent, meaning hundred, or centesimus a hundredth part, such as a cent is a hundredth part of a currency unit.

Putting the two parts together Millicent is a name that assigns a worth (or value) of 1000 x 1/100, which becomes 10. This name is not meant to be a calculation - as if to assign quantity - but to express quality. What quality does it express? In this regard it is also (surprisingly?) an exact name. If we are to identify with this name, it tells us that we consist of many (mille) parts (cent) and its result is 10 (ten), expressed in 1 (one) name.

Now, to explain this 10, let me introduce the Hebrew Letter י (Yud). It is the tenth letter of the Hebrew Alphabet. It is the first letter of those that express a relationship with existence, opposed to the previous nine that express archetypes, not yet existing, as before or beyond time. Yud as 10 expresses existence of its archetype א (Aleph, 1). By expressing in existence that which is beyond time, it can only do it partially. But Yud is powerful in that its expression is unique and irreplaceable.

Yud is the birth of affirmation, and it causes the addressing of its demands. This process of affirmation of things that have never been, but have been buried in the past, is itself the expression of the letter Yud. Yud has been born from the past, therefore it is alive in the present rather than dead. Even for a single moment, it is a witness of its origin, in that moment before it is gone. And when it does witness of its origin and assigns a worth to it, it becomes the thousandfold exaltation of an expectation. Who is content with an empty hand? If it is filled with what it deserves, the owner's heart is filled a thousand times.
(Yud idiomaticly also means hand.)

I kissed Millicent's hand before I stepped out of the train. I kept the inner witness of life for myself, at least temporarily. I trust it to express the total value of its origin; it is Aleph exalted ten times or a hundred times or a thousand times!

It's only the beginning

Trying to come to grips with Truth is a continuous process. Once you are drawn into its direction, you have no choice but to become more focussed. You have to start somewhere. Actually you always start now. 'Now' is a concept that never fades.

Did you see a variation of this in a pub? 'Tomorrow the beer is half price.'
Come tomorrow, you ask for the reduction and the bartender says: 'Can't you read? Tomorrow. Only tomorrow is the beer half price.' What a joke, or is it? Yes, tomorrow never comes. Even at the moment that 23:59 hours changes into 0:00 hours, it is still not tomorrow. It is always today! In fact, day, the measure of time, is arbitrary. It is always this year, this month, this week, this day, this hour, this minute, this second, this moment, this - this is always now.

So, yesterday, when it was now, I went to see a professor at the university where I studied. It was an experiment. I tried to go there and see whether I could make him enthousiastic about the hidden meaning of the Hebrew Letters. As a mathematician he ought to be interested if I tell him that these letters are like variables in math. Except that they also have some basic properties, to be specified later. So, after he had given his opinion about the bible - which is not relevant at all - I could ask him, what he thought was the most important book in the bible. He did not know. It is Genesis. And I asked what is the most important chapter of it. He did not know. It is the first. And I asked what the most important word was. He did not know. The first word. I said: 'The first word is pronounced berayshiyt.' (There may be some variations around, but it is pretty close - it is an old word, mind you.)
I wrote it on the blackboard. It reads

בראשית

He asked what it means. I said: 'Nobody knows what it means, it can not be translated. But I can still give meaning to it.' And I wrote the following sequence of numbers:

400.10.300.1.200.2

Yes, you are required to read the word and the sequence from right to left, as is customary in Hebrew. The professor started talking again and in between he asked the question why I thought it was the most important word. The situation was rather peculiar in that he had talked most of the time. And I had the opportunity to give the meaning. I said: 'I am trying to tell you a very important information, that is hard to explain, because it is rather abstract. But you, as a mathematician, may be able to understand it, if I am allowed to explain it. The words in this Hebrew text are equations, expressed in the letters. And their meaning is the solution, depending on the context. But it is not an ordinary language. It is unknown, but we can find its meaning by understanding the letters.'

Now the miracle happened. The professor told me a story related to the formation of creole languages.

He said that people sometimes migrate to another country into another language area. When they are older, they are not able to pick up the language any more, but only that part of it that is necessary to survive, or to express the basic things to get by in stores and such. This effect is even stronger when these people come from different language areas themselves. Their language is even cruder and poorer. The children of these people, however, because they become socially active in their community, have the need to express their emotions, especially when they become interested in having a girlfriend or a boyfriend. Then, all by themselves, they tend to creatively form a complete new rich language that becomes their native tongue. A new language is born.

This is what he told me. I was very surprised to note that what he told me is a possible translation of the word berayshiyt!

I coupled the letters as follows:

(B) 2 - children (in Hebrew the word bar 2.200 means son or child)
(R) 200 - feeling poor in their community; expressed as an enlargement of 2.
(A) 1 - have a need to express themselves
(Sh) 300 - become creative
(I) 10 - invent a language
(T) 400 - that answers their needs as a NEW language.

When he was finished I had written these interpretations next to the letters and said: "Your story is perfectly mapped on this word. It surprises me that I could do that, but it is an honest translation. The word expresses the process you have just described. Such is the generality of the meaning of these letters. According to the 'flat' translation, it means 'in the beginning'. But its meaning can't be expressed in a single expression like that. It explains a process."
He was sceptic and said: "It looks more like poetry."
Considering that he may not only express scepticism, but also tried to get back to his work, I tried once more to leave the impression that there is more at stake then only the question of whether this is poetry or not. He started to tell me another story and I understood that he was not ready to take it in. I left him to his work.

Now, when I went home, I realised another thing, I had gone through the same process myself:

2 - lonely me
200 - entering a building of the mathematical community
1 - wanting to explain the first word
300 - used the professor's story as a creative way to do it
10 - giving the explanation in a mapping
400 - leaving it at that, whether it was understood or not.

So, in a way, my wish had been granted - I had explained it to somebody that is much smarter than I am. But his way of thinking blocked understanding. I was slightly disappointed, but I understood that it means I can not force the outcome. Next time, somebody will ask me to explain it even better. This prospect filled me with satisfaction.

This word berayshiyt is much more then this even. It is the explanation of the fact that everything that happens is always the answer to all the questions you ask or have asked. A basic understanding of this fact is itself the beginning of becoming sensitive to the value of this answer, when it appears to you now.

It's only the beginning - and it means there is nothing else.

Welcome

Welcome to those who are interested in the questions regarding life and everything.
Welcome to those who are not, for they may always become interested after reading this.

May this blog inspire you - if it does, let me know and you inspire me.

--

Have you ever wondered why there are so many religions?
I had one. I had one. I had one. (Three times one.)

Now I have got eternal life and what that is, is really not that easy to explain. For in all religions this term has been called different. But eternal life is a rather correct expression in comparison to others like 'enlightenment'. If something can be said about their relationship, then it is that enlightenment causes eternal life.

I'll give some statements that form the core of the path that I have walked. To make an honest contribution I should be able to explain these statements. I'll try.

1. Jesus' words in the New Testament are utterly incomprehensible, unless you have grasped them at his level.
2. The words in the Old Testament cover up the letters.
3. There is something to know that has more value than every earthly possession.
4. That which is to know is uncomprehensible by the mind alone, it is unfathomable by the heart alone, but it is perfectly logic when it involves mind and heart. It is called Truth.

Ad 1.
To explain the first may be the hardest at this point, for it requires we go through those sayings of Jesus and point out how they are incomprehensible and how they are comprehensible. This is already a tricky one. To point out that they are incomprehensible, it is to show that they can be understood in more than one way, and on first observance, it is not clear what to choose. To point out that they are comprehensible, a threshold must be crossed and if the reader is convinced of the incomprehensibility, how can he be convinced of the comprehensibility? As an example I like to refer to

Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

First of all I like to point out that the Greek text uses the same word for life and for soul. It is the word 'psuche' or 'psyche'. (see http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Mat&chapter=16&verse=25&version=KJV#25 and http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/c.pl?book=Mat&chapter=16&verse=26&version=KJV#26)

Is it so difficult to translate this word? And if so, what are we to lose, what are we to find? Our life or our soul or our psyche? It seems utterly confusing to use the same word in different ways in the English translation. In the Greek it is psyche. The psyche is that which we identify with, that which makes us who we are. And this holds the same for our soul and our life. If we can not pinpoint what our psyche, soul or life is, we have lost it already - and we may find it according to this saying. If we find it, however, we will lose it.

I hope it is clear that in this way of thinking about what it is, we are hopelessly lost in its meaning. It becomes incomprehensible. When it hits you that what is most essential to you is unknown by you, then you come a bit closer to understanding what this is about. Can the reader answer the question for himself "Who am I?" I doubt it. If he can, it can't be true. If he can not, although honest, the question remains unanswered.

Where does it lead us? It leads us into the unknown. The unknown is where the answer lies. It requires to cross a threshold into the unknown. Yet, everything inside you is there and it contains everything there is to know about you, or does it? The unknown is a magnet and when you are fully aware of the vastness of this magnet, you are drawn into it and you lose your soul. But then you will find it. So, this saying of Jesus becomes comprehensible. By the experience of the unthinkable.

Ad 2.
Hebrew words consist of letters of the Hebrew Alphabet. These letters have meaning in and of themselves. Combinations of letters form a word and its meaning relates to the letters and to the context in which the word is used. But most of all, the letters are like algebraic unknowns with some basic proberties: x is prime, y is even, z is a square, so x+y+z is? Such is the way one thinks about words written in the Hebrew Alphabet. The meaning of each letter is a well kept secret, or maybe it is just too plain that it has been forgotten? In a future episode, I will go into this a bit further, but I invite the reader to do some research on the internet to find out if he can figure out the meaning of the Hebrew Letters. A hint: they differ from any other alphabet.

Ad 3.
As pointed out earlier, in my first quote of some of Jesus' recorded words, that worth has to do with you. But also with how you perceive you. Not how I perceive you, but how you perceive you. And it seems that you are different from me. Well, the things that differ between us, are temporary. But the things we have in common are eternal. That which is eternal deserves a special name. And the thing 'how do I perceive myself' is a common theme within our different personalities. Are you living? Are you human?

Ad 4.
Whatever eternal means - and it does mean little in the context of our limited understanding - it means something like constant. The saying 'the only constant is change' tries to point out that there are no constants, so how can anything be eternal? Well, it depends on the way you view reality. For every practical purpose, the Universe is eternal, but its physical aspect might end sometimes. Just by accident I read in the new 'Scientific American' (see p.44) that the Big Bang theory is being modified as we speak. It is becoming a Big Bounce theory, because the theory of matter as it stands can not allow for the supposed compression of all matter in a single point. Hence it must never have been a point, never started, but may have bounced through certain near-single points (a relatively small volume) - as through the eye of a needle, it jumped through it towards a new form, a new future at its end, and we are part of its development after its previous bounce. I am not making this up! This is the mind-part. The mind tries to understand.

Eternal according to the heart is that which allows for constant development, in peace, in love, in acceptance, in understanding, in empathy. And those desires which surpass the individual physical circumstances, they impact everybody around you in the measure you express them.

Eternal becomes something that is very close to your mind and very close to your heart. Your mind is used to fulfill the desires of your heart, it becomes very down to Earth. Your heart is used to pierce through time into those regions of joy that we call the Heavens. Both Heaven and Earth are then drawn together towards their unity. And when they come close enough, the lightning of Truth bridges their imaginary distance. Who will see its flash? It is the same who lives eternal.

--

Consider this the opening accord of a written symphony.
